Waxing Require License In Indiana

Tuscania run away to the lake, ie, sudden change of route and artists Drunken Square! Galeria

A quiet afternoon in late winter there was the idea of making a door gitarella out beyond the borders of the region, in Tuscany, to visit and meet the colorful Park of the Tarot ... which, however, we would never have arrived! The day started immediately with a number of incidents, as the laziness of some and the lack of other safe driving brought us to within five boxed in a tiny Twingo, a species revival of departure for the summer '60, with the baby boomers that fits in kind of sardine cans, while defined machines, and travel hundreds of miles in travel conditions comparable to those of a Pakistani taxi-day!

The tragedy, widely heralded by the presence of gray clouds looking very reassuring to the mountains north of Rome, began to wear sull'A12, the Rome-Civitavecchia, when our overcrowded car like a cattle wagon is hit by a violent downpour at Civitavecchia ... discussion a little 'to do, want the inconvenience of travel, you definitely bad for the time we're all a bit' disheartening and destructive ... No one has more desire to go to Tuscany, but at the same time, no one wants to give up and he sadly back to the capital ... What to do? We leave the highway and general uncertainty, including, the Via Aurelia, we begin to look carefully at the names of villages and hamlets we pass before your eyes ... then We opt for a change of plan, we will choose a village at random in the area and that God send us good! Initially, we lean to Tarquinia, but we were outside opening hours of the Etruscan necropolis, also we had been more or less, and then continue to "dart" (so to speak, I should say "trudge" seen weight did not matter supported by the Twingo, which is already a fast car of his own, let alone when it is overloaded). We take the SP3-fifths, or Road of Tarquinia, a bucolic road through the hills, fields and woods, until you reach the village of Tuscania. We decide to stop there, hit by name, place of isolation and the beautiful views offered by way of Tarquinia!

Tuscania is a town suspended in time

parked just outside the walls and we head to foot in the old town, under a leaden sky that does not bode well, and occasional drizzle a few minutes. The change of destination turns out to be a right decision ... We can, in fact, wandering around the alleys and streets of the city without old that the rain will give us too much trouble ...

We go through the old walls Porta di Poggio, the dark clouds to the atmosphere of a special color, almost as if the old town was suspended beyond time and space ... Some small element of modernity here and there, a car, a road sign, a lantern show us that we are in XXI century, but losing between the manicured streets I do not think we would have much surprised if we saw some knight to turn a remote corner!
proceed happily in the quiet of the place and found the Church of S. Mark Fountain Montascide, then take Via Cavour and Via del Rivellino to reach the other end of town, where there are Rivellino Theatre and the Fountain of the 7 taps. It's like being in a country of fairy tales, kept in great detail, clean, neat ... Obviously, we, unlike the coast, people are civil and takes care of things around! But oh well, el'inciviltà the rudeness of many people deserve a speech aside, it would be pointless to dwell having regard to its unjustifiably!

continue along the wall and contemplate the complex from S. Francis and the Ancient Via Clodia, the area of the Basin Park is one of my favorites, with those paths that wind along the walls, where you can enjoy a breathtaking view, the inevitable old ladies sitting outside chatting and extreme care the decorations and the green houses and streets, adorned with plants and flowers.

The inclement weather gives us the right time for another walk to Via XII Settembre, which leads us to re-cross diametrically the old town, passing through the Fountain of Poggio and the Cathedral of St. James, when, while oziamo front of the Palazzo della Meridiana, suddenly breaks out Flood unexpected! We dive travel in the first bar we meet for a drink forced open air, but under an awning that shelters us! The rest turns out fun, we meet at the next table of the painter / poet local Massimo Lippi, who, obviously drunk, introduces us to two Austrian patrons who had just bought some of his work and with whom he was celebrating with a lavish libations based prosecco! The Sor Max is attracted by young people, it seems, and began immediately to talk with us about this and that, often jumping and making bread in bough Oretta spend a pleasant cheerful, protected under the shower, watched over by the grim look of the maid and from the shock of a couple of other patrons, apparently not natives of the place, given the fame and reputation of the country in Sor Massimo!

La Meridiana, one of our landmarks

starts to get late, unfortunately The winter days are long and not as delicious as summer ... The darkness falls early, and although the downpour has given way to a light drizzle, but persistent and annoying, you reboot the machine trotting satisfied of having discovered, almost by chance , a place so charming, calm ... The only gripe is not having been able to visit the Etruscan necropolis, closed in the afternoon, but maybe it's just an excuse to be able to return soon ...

As usual, some useful links to historical / About Tuscania:

(in this article even mentioned our friend Massimo Lippi, who made our visit even more memorable by Sor Massimo!)

Whats The Name Of Piano Song In Unleashed

old, that is, we have our own ghost town ... Welcome aboard

I write this post with a special thought for those who like to especially walks in remote areas and abandoned, where the evidence of human presence, now passed since time immemorial, are gradually but surely overwhelmed by a lush and luxuriant, finally free to develop without restrictions and constraints ...

The arched entrance to the ancient village,
Etruscan site in the way of access.
We are not in some wilderness of the Far West, nor in an apocalyptic scenario of abandonment, but to just twenty miles from Rome, near the settlement of Santa Maria di Galeria . It 'a path like many others, can be reached from Via S. Maria di Galeria, that our adventure begins ...

L’altro sentiero porta giù, verso la cascatella del fiume Arrone, che scorre ai margini dell’antico borgo, e consente di raggiungere la parte bassa dell’insediamento, nella quale resiste ancora il vecchio sull'Arrone bridge and where you can access a variety of late-medieval houses and tunnels of the oldest building on both banks of the River. I note that this second path is almost invisible from the clearing of access, as covered by brambles, but the road is reopened as we approach the bridge and the ruins. In our case, despite being informed of the existence of this second path, we discovered after getting off the river from the upper part of the city.

The place is very impressive, Galeria is an ancient settlement, is believed to date back to the Etruscans, who named it Careia. In Roman times, until the Renaissance, was the scene of vicissitudes, Norman and Saracen invasions in dispute for its possession between the noble families of the area.

It is said that even entertained the Emperor Charles V, but, Since 1500, the city came to meet him at a slow but inexorable decline, exacerbated by the presence of the malaria that infested the Roman Agro since 1700. The last inhabitants of the city, already been reduced to ruins, abandoned it in 1809 to found the settlement of S. Maria di Galeria, about 4 km further north and away from the flooding of the river Arrone.

Photo to the right and Below: The bell tower of St. Andrew's Church, the Church's most important gallery, consecrated in 1204. In 1774 the clock was installed of which still remain traces, which was moved to nearby St. Maria in Galeria in 1822. This is the city's tallest building, the one that emerges still the wood, indicating the presence of the dead city.

Since then, the dead city was engulfed by a thick forest and its only inhabitants are a wide variety of plants and forest animals such as foxes, porcupines, wild boars ...

If, on the one hand, the state of neglect gives the town a unique charm, it is also important to note that if in the near future will not be undertaken restoration work or protection, the buildings still standing will continue inexorably to crumble (the accomplice unstable ground on which it is built tuff) and this incredible testimony of our past could go irretrievably lost.

The square, urban and social center of Gallery, housed major services: the oven, the house of dance, the Governor's house, the entrance to the castle and a church.

Today the ruins scattered in the dense vegetation, express, besides its romantic ruins in the woods, the intermingling between architectural elements and aspects nature.

The indivisible nature of its natural and cultural heritage of the area determines the existence of a "habitat destruction", where you can see the monumental sites and the appropriation of space by nature. The particularity of the place, in fact, is not so much in the historical and artistic features of the architectural complex as the harmony which is made in the link between architecture and landscape. For this gallery has been visited by many artists and travelers of the nineteenth century than with the fixed design picturesque aspects of the architectural complex, or represented the spectacle of nature and landscape.

Careiae the ancient, the settlement probably of Etruscan origin remains the old road layout leading to the village, in some places, like this one, situated in the loose volcanic formations. Through this work, typically Etruscan, is now possible to observe geological formations, represented by the products in this area Sabatini volcanic apparatus (lavas, tuffs and tuffs lithoid stratified inconsistent). Here is wet almost all year and this allows the growth of mosses and ferns on the rocks.

Curiosity

The ghost senz'affanni "
ancient local legend tells the story of a ghost minstrel named" Senz'affanni. Died about three hundred years ago, returns on time every year, among the ancient walls of the gallery singing and playing for his beloved woman riding a beautiful white horse. But the legend seems to have taken effect among those who claim to hear the sound of hooves and a sound like a moan coming from the valley below the ancient settlement. The same people claim to have heard especially during the winter floods of the River Arrochar.

Alcuni autori attribuiscono l'origine del nome all'antica tribù Latin for "Gallery", which you do not know the area of derivation.
Some sources attribute the birth site of the Etruscan civilization, when the village that once stood here was called "Careia", a center of medium size, located on the boundary of the shaft of the river Arrochar, territories of Veii and Cerveteri .

The variety of environments in such a small area leads to a composition rich in wildlife and valuable interest.

to venture into the idea of writing a blog is something I buzzed overhead for some time, a kind of technological version of my notebooks on which I jotted down impressions for many years, events and whatever else comes into my head or see happen in my life ... Unfortunately this is a good habit that I almost dropped over the past two years, either by the hectic life, you want to lose the incentive ... But now I decided to remedy! As a great traveler
do-it-yourself (no Alpitour and the like, thank God!) And amateur photographer, I'm always looking for remote places, possibly beaten track to discover and appreciate (I'm afraid to be a little 'anti-social The mass ... not for me ...). The idea of a blog, or better, a "travel book" where I could publish information, photos and impressions on sites in my region, Lazio, was born after the last trip to the dead city of ancient gallery, for which there are a lot of information available online ... Lazio
In fact, there exists a multitude of villages, towns and natural attractions off the beaten tourist route from the classics, but no less interesting ... It is easy to visit places in one or two days, so this blog could be an opportunity for further enrichment and informative, why not a source of ideas for trips and / or outputs to the discovery of our priceless heritage.
